Resolve Legal Professionals is seeking a motivated and highly organised Legal Assistant to provide direct support to the Principal Solicitor in the specialised area of Child Law and Care & Protection. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced legal environment, takes pride in producing high-quality work, and is looking to develop knowledge in a rewarding and specialised area of law.


 Location: Resolve Legal Professionals - Newcastle Office

Hours: 16 hours per week (days and hours to be negotiated with the Principal Solicitor) 


About the Role

Working directly with the Principal Solicitor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and maintaining the Principal Solicitor's calendar and appointments.
  • Drafting correspondence, legal documents, and other administrative materials.
  • Liaising with clients, government agencies, courts, and other stakeholders.
  • Answering and managing telephone enquiries.
  • Assisting with file management and general administrative tasks.
  • Providing high-level support to ensure matters progress efficiently.

Junior Receptionist / Administrative Assistant

Resolve Legal Professionals is seeking a professional, organised and motivated Junior Receptionist / Administrative Assistant to join our team. This position is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in administration, reception or legal support. We are seeking a team member who enjoys helping people, takes pride in their organisational skills and thrives in a busy office environment. We value attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn above previous legal experience. As the first point of contact for our clients, you will play an important role in ensuring every client receives a professional and welcoming experience when interacting with our firm.

 Location: Resolve Legal Professionals - Newcastle Office

Hours: 30 Hours per week (6hrs per day)

Key Responsibilities

  • Greeting clients and visitors to the office.
  • Answering incoming telephone calls and directing enquiries appropriately.
  • Taking accurate messages and ensuring they are delivered promptly.
  • Managing solicitor calendars, appointments and court dates.
  • Maintaining both physical and electronic client files.
  • Ensuring client matter files and records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Assisting with scanning, filing, document preparation and general office administration.
  • Supporting solicitors and administrative staff with day-to-day office tasks.
  • Assisting to ensure deadlines, appointments and important dates are accurately recorded and monitored.

Skills and Experience

Previous experience in reception, administration or customer service is desirable but not essential.We are primarily seeking someone with the right attitude, communication skills and willingness to learn. Full training and support will be provided to the successful applicant.Applicants should be:

  • Competent in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Teams (desirable).
  • Familiar with LEAP Legal Software (desirable but not essential).
  • Comfortable learning new systems and processes.
  • Reliable, professional and well organised.

We encourage applications from school leavers, junior administrators, receptionists, customer service professionals and others seeking to establish a long-term career in office administration. This role is primarily an administrative and client service position within a law firm. It is not designed as a legal training position or pathway to legal practice.
